It’s a nice, dramatic moment. And it’s almost enough to give Lingen an “I’m in deep feces now, aren’t I?” moment. 🙂
But the vampire is doing it wrong. He should have already twisted Lingen’s arm by now, forcing him to drop the gun. He’s HOW old? And he hasn’t disarmed him yet? He should know that hesitation kills.
I don’t think he’s powerful enough to twist Lingen’s arm with raw strength, given Lingen’s nemsiiki prowess. That’s most likely why Lingen starts to see the Lady with fear in the last panels, as SHE overpowers him and with visibly little effort.
What manner of being…you sure you want to know that, bucko?
She told him already that she is just a Lady. His fault he doesn’t listen.
Got there before me, Maryz.
You know….if I were that guy, I would be browning my pants at this point.
All respect is lost for Lingen. He is killing for pleasure. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but it is very unprofessional. He is doing unnecessary, dangerous things.
@Darth Killer
Her hand grip is hefty. I think their powers can only do so much as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. They can’t do anything technically imposable. The consistency of our reality is what so amazed Lingen when he was playing with the ball.
The Vampire already knew these two were out of the ordinary because they confronted “the lady”. He also knew he wasn’t alone with handling them.
Now, I wonder what has happened to the ‘apprentice’ while the ‘master’ is being apprehended? Are we to suddenly see the apprentice has decided to take a well-needed rest?

I think that vampire can see their true form and is used to different folk in his bar.
Oh yeah, I forgot the Vampire would see things like that. thanks for the reminder.
And I agree, the unusual visitor is more usual in his bar.
HAHA! They are FINALY catching on that there is more than meets the naked eye to The Lady. Its about dang time that they did!
I keep trying to give the art this chapter a fair shot after the excellence of the previous artist, but I really have to say that the Lady’s face in that last panel is quite awful.
I like last panel and enjoy new art. 😀
It was so easy to get used to it and to my opinion is better, closer to old art. I liked “Dance of indwellers” art, but sometimes it didn’t have that old art feel, atmosphere which i loved so much.
I love all 3 arts, although the one thing that disappointed me with the older 2D art and that was repeated with the newer one is how Jen does not look like the way she did in the original 3D art : she’s supposed to be asian with short, lightbrown hair. Still, got used to it pretty quickly, and what i enjoy most in Twilight Lady is the script, so i’m happy nonetheless. 🙂
In fairness to Przemyslaw, Jorge, Sean, and Erick, the change in Jen’s hair length and color was entirely my idea (you may have noticed her hair already started getting longer in between Volumes 1 and 2, which still had the “old” art).
It was always intended as part of the character’s gradual evolution. Into what? Well, by now, you can probably hazard a decent guess…
J.K. : what about her original asian-looking eyes as well as the freckles she used to have ?
As to a transformation, i hope in the end it’ll be more like a partnership between goddess and host than an actual replacement, to be honest, although a few physical changes won’t hurt. Just wished there were a more “within the script” hint about it, rather than simply the change of style due to change of artist.
“what about her original asian-looking eyes as well as the freckles she used to have ?”
That’s a whole different can of worms altogether!
