And our vampire friend enters the scene. 🙂
the gun actually fired? I’m surprised.
Well, our not-so-friendly aliens are about to discover our ‘plane of existence’ creates a few beings a bit more capable than they’re aware of.
Wonder who will get first punch.
‘told you the gun was loaded and ready to fire, didn’t I ? :p
I was also surprised the gun fired. It seemed quite likely the safety was still on and Lingen would have no idea why it wouldn’t work.
Ah, well. I forgot to factor in how Mr. Lingard just bought it and is a novice with guns.
Well, that was unexpected. Not that the gun fired (though the quibbles are valid), but that the Lady (or Jen?) chose a response which put her in a bad position for counter. Guess she saw the cavalry coming in and decided she could trust them to handle it.
“Did I do that right?”
No. No, you didn’t. Only a professional aims for the head as it’s a small and agile target. Novices should aim for the chest, or if they want someone alive, for the abdomen as those are large targets.
He didn’t aim for the head, that’s poor perspective/dramatization. He took out a bottle on the bar, very clearly not head level.
Will his attitude be explained? “Who dares?” implies that he thinks we should fear him. His petty attitude even suprized the Lady. He should have seen enough cops to know about civil athorities. He’s pretending to be FBI after all.
Maybe he’s expecting “the natives” to be obedient to their authorities, too. He does not know enough about the rules they follow to keep order, and as a result does not even realize he just blew their cover as FBI agents…
actually, their cover is CIA, which supposedly does not have clearance to operate in the US… supposedly.
anyway, even the CIA operating where they are not expected does not fire a gun in a crowded bar. They would know a bar… any bar in the US, at least… has certain people who are PAID to deal with trouble makers and are VERY good at it.
And this particular bouncer has advantages
The CIA does actually have authority to work in the US, but under very stringent conditions like, for example, watching out for an international criminal wanted by interpol, or keeping tabs on a foreign national from a hostile country like Iran, or better still when invited by local police. None of that applies to this guy, AND furthermore, CIA would seriously avoid opening fire in a crowded bar as that is far more likely than not a sure sign of mission failure.
