The Secret of Cass Corridor, Pg 35-38
END OF CHAPTER FOUR: “The Souls You Couldn’t Save”
Jesus, will you let me sing for you?
Will you sit awhile
or have you more important things to do?
I realize I’m blessed to live this life I live
and I’m grateful for the gifts that I’ve received
Yet I’m haunted by these voices that I hear
I’m haunted by these visions that I see
I see faces in the night
Trapped forever in moonlight
I hear their voices crying to be free
Oh, the souls you couldn’t save
They call me from the grave!
Ah, they paint the memory
of all humanity
Jesus have I also failed you
Am I doing what you put me here to do?
For better or worse
Blessing or curse
I’m haunted by my love for you
I’m haunted by these voices that I hear
I’m haunted by these visions that I see
I see faces in the night
Trapped forever in moonlight
I hear their voices crying to be free
Oh, the souls you couldn’t save
They call me from the grave!
Ah, they paint the memory
of all humanity
Oh, the souls you couldn’t save
We call you from the grave!
Ah, we paint the memory
of all humanity

Immortality…
– Would YOU want it?
– Would YOU decline an offer to get it like that?
– would YOU want to know what’s the price to pay for it?
My answer: yes, no, yes
I’d say yes in a heart beat. The one thing humans don’t seem to have is a predator after them. Why we have so many stories of such things. Whether werewolves or vampires or Predator aliens it feeds that same missing aspect. Predators keep the herd from reproducing too much and starving. We have the intelligence but not the will to control our own reproduction. So the rich use many times more than the poor. It isn’t numbers, it is resource use. The rich take from the poor to live with too much.
