OMG. if he wasnt deamon before he’s def living in deamon town now… and it looks like its more a kiko/noblay sitch then the other way around…
i wonder if rona can knock gen out somehow (gently)and get the lady back up and running. and hopfully do so in one big ass hurry… BTW 1sting… i cant help it i love doing that…
Nobelay is looking rather good for someone who just got chopped up by the Lady, I’d say. In fact, he even looks a little stronger than the last time we saw him…
Well the twisted yet benign tale just took a serious turn towards the weird!
And the “kid” strikes his true colors!
On the way to work today I ended up behind a truck with the license plate NOBELAY. That creeped me right the hell out. o.O
Must be your lucky day.
Kiko was warned, now the set up comes. He ain’t gonna like the results.
“Must be your lucky day”
hahahahahahahahaha
Hmm… Quite an obvious weak spot that comes along with the power up, if you ask me…
Hm. And the Lady is still submerged. This could be the time when Jen starts learning a bit more about her other self.
technogeek : definitly. Must be why we got to read the Lady saying she did not want to arouse Jen’s suspicions. Seriously, why would our author make the Lady mention that to us, if it were not intended to become obsolete ? 😀
It says the next chapter is the concluding chapter. does that mean the series is ending?
I’m assuming the concluding chapter just of The Indwellers.
“nobelay” is an anagram for baloney 🙂
why do so many people seem to dislike the new art?
if I hadn’t seen indwellers before I started reading at the start I would have missed out on a good story. that is to say that I woudn’t have read more than a few pages. as someone else said a while ago “the uncanny valley sucks”
New art: It’s pretty darned decent as traditional comic art goes. Part of this is simply that it isn’t what the oldtimers were conditioned to expect and it’s going to take a while to recalibrate.
On the other hand, I found that the Uncanny Valley effect was part of what drew me _into_ Twilight Lady in the first place. Yes, it’s a bit disturbing, but for me that was well-suited to the story being told. And there was a general aura of grittiness/creepiness, beyond that effect, which also suited the story — it felt very much like a normally run-down urban environment, which is something the new strips haven’t reflected. (Of course the current tale is also set in a more suburban/rural context, so one wouldn’t expect the same kind of harsh surroundings.) But de gustibus non disputandum est.
If this works for you and the old art doesn’t, more power to ya; I’m sure Blake, and Przemyslaw and Erick even more so, are delighted to hear that the switch may draw in some additional readers.
As Kipling put it: “There are nine and sixty ways of constructing tribal lays, And every single one of them is right!”
“I’m assuming the concluding chapter just of The Indwellers.”
And you would be correct.
one thing the old art lacked was movement. the way it’s done now you can just add a couple of lines and it become obvious what’s happening*
the way it was before that wouldn’t work
*keep in mind that I’m not an artist. and that I’m generalising
Agreed with Technogeek. Though for me it was mostly the surreal feeling the art had, the way it seemed one couldn’t trust anything one was seeing. I find I rather enjoy Mr. Arciniega’s work in that regard. But that’s just me.
I found the transition jarring, but I like the new art. I liked the old art too, once I got used to it. I think the new art will be easier for a lot of people to get into, at the cost of being less distinctive from other webcomics out there.
In the long run the artist should do whatever they find inspiring and the rest of us will cope. 😉
