I can only guess that the horror of unspeakable might in the left of the lower panel is what came out of Whisper’s body.
As for whoever’s talking, one would think it’s either Rona or Perse (perse is who comes to my mind), but it may be one of Belahm’s clientele. I don’t think it’s the old man, though.
Hmm… Just want to clarify now, my previous statement was not a challenge.
That aside, it appears to me that this disturbance has triggered everyone’s “Carpe Diem for Thieves” trigger and they’re making a mad rush, sowing confusion and chaos that the Lady has carefully plotted… and Painted.
I don’t think that it’s Rona, I don’t think that she’s the “break into the window” type 🙂 I see her as more of a ninja in the shadows type.
Perse seems like that type to me.
there’s also the ominous Fang theory hanging around! That thing looks like a Dinosaur.
or Whisper’s just shedding her human skin.
What did the lady paint? A shift in Reality; or something like a bat in the clouds which summons Batman, but this is intended to trigger people(like the change in Whisper); or something else??
Is that Belham in the bottom right panel? looks like she grabbed somethings green hand…is that who’s speaking? It could also be a friend of the octopus thing that is being chomped
I’m with Phil. There’s not enough of a reference to figure out exactly what is happening to whom in the last three strips. Love the comic up to that point, tho.
top: Something’s breaking “kraak”. on the left, it looks like a face, on the right it looks like TEETH (yes, in capitals!). “Kraak”=corn popping? I believe that coffee beans also crack when they are roasted. This could be:
the monster cracking out of whisper; Perse/rona/etc cracking into the building;Fang cracking out of the light;choose your theory…I’m not taking a stance 😉
bottom panel, left: the dinosaur is chomping one of those octopus guys.
bottom panel, right: Behlam(?) is grabbing a green hand, and somebody is talking
Well, the fact that your reply is all, “something… looks like… this could be…choose your theory…” makes my point. I don’t KNOW what is happening. It sounds like you don’t either, but you’re okay with it. It’s just a matter of what we like or don’t like. Being in the dark is cool for a bit, but too long and it just gets frustrating.
@mike. hahahaha, you summed me up pretty well:-) I have no problems being in the dark. It makes life interesting. I usually block my eyes/ears at the movie house when they show previews. I remember spilling coke/popcorn all over my wife when I threw them at her when they played the preview for one of the latest Star Wars movies! I have other life experiences where I just jumped in and enjoyed swimming against the current 🙂 KungFu tournaments and motorbike riding are among the more dangerous tales…but the coke+popcorn+wife was probably the MOST dangerous!
That troll doesn’t look like Belahm to me, but I could be wrong. Those trolls all look alike.
I assumed that the “crack” was the monster inside Whisper coming out and breaking the cage open in the process.
The person talking on the lower right talks like a human. This doesn’t necessarily mean it IS a human, but we haven’t seen any Subrealm natives that talk quite the same way humans do. Something about it reminds me of Perse.
I would have guessed the Lady’s spell to be something subtle yet powerful that altered reality in ways that weren’t immediately visible. Changing the rules of the game, in other words. That seems like the way the Lady works; she doesn’t seem like much of the fireballs-and-lightning-bolts type of magic user. Its apparent effects leave me wondering; but I wouldn’t be surprised if the true purpose of the spell were to cause exactly the sort of chaos we’re seeing.
It’s all good. I’ll keep reading and sooner or later the tracks will catch, like a roller coaster car ascending the first hill, and then I’ll feel like I know what’s going on again.
haha awesome
Indeed… Curiouser and curiouser…
Great.
Though the suspense (increased by the vague pictures) is getting a bit unpleasent.
But perhaps I`m only too tired right now.
Hang in there… all will become clear soon!
I can’t tell what any of the last 3 panels are supposed to be portraying.
Three panels? I know it’s kinda chaotic, but I count two panels.
Any theories?
Or is everybody basically going… “huh?”

Methinks Blake is being mysterious again.

I don’t get what you guys are not getting!
