Hmm. Agree, coming out of berserker mode (effectively, though the Lady was perfectly in control of herself) to find out what you’d been doing could be quite a shock.
Having a bit of trouble reconciling this with Jen later. Suppressed memory, or just no connection made, or…?
One stylistic gripe about the previous installment — given the physics of the situation, I would have expected a left-foot sweep (crossing kick with the bottom of the foot) rather than a right-foot kick with the toes. That would seem easier to spin into given that Jen had been in a running retreat. (But this may reflect the particular flavor of training I was exposed to.)
Though comming out of a berserker phase would shock a person quite a bit. Espally if they could feel any of their emotions lingering from when they were in it, such as the sheer enjoyment that they got from it.
Wakey, wakey! Time for the fun to end.
Used to happen to me all the time. 😉
That grin… I’m once again reminded of that one melody.

Aw, poor Jen. I would not want to wake up to that.

She could also know more than she lets on. We don’t actually know Jen that well yet.
I must say, ( @ albert ) lmao.
