I agree. But I’m thinking more of the metaphor of how beauty is also what’s on the inside.
BTW: I’m curious what Eleanor meant by “I wanna FEEL the power of orblight.” Is this some sort of sly reference to wanting to face Oblivion? Or did The Lady experience Orblight herself a long time ago and this caused a change in her?

That reminds of the comments I made in the ‘Twilight Lady Q & A’ blog: http://www.twilightlady.com/2010/07/01/got-a-question/comment-page-1/
Specifically, considering that Jen is part of the The Lady:
“Jason & crew tracking down Jen IN PARTICULAR may hint at a subconscious desire to ‘court with death’, so to speak.”
But, I think it’s clear that Eleanor genuinely despises The Lady and really does want her eliminated. And I have a sinking feeling that The Lady MIGHT be in for a thrashing at the hands of Eleanor. Why? Remember several months ago when the Lady fought that Troll huntress? The Troll CLEARLY had the upper hand, until The Lady went into a rage. And remember BEFORE the auction, when Eleanor came to trade Benjamin for Patrice? Eleanor threatened the Troll… and the Troll backed down.
The Lady did think that fighting the Troll was well beneath her. And she probably has good reason to think that. But my interpretation was, in the end, she realized that she’s been safe for SO LONG she was AFRAID of taking a risk. And going to rescue Rena and the others and fighting the Troll WAS a risk for her, in her out-of-shape condition. It’s NOT that Eleanor is stronger than The Lady. But The Lady is still rusty – out of practice with the blade.
That, and I’m thinking Eleanor might be a force to be reckoned with.
Hell hath no fury like an angel scorned?
Eleanor may also be trying to rile the Lady into making a mistake, make her easier to fight.
As to the beauty bit, considering the actions of each, neither Eleanor or the Lady can actually claim ‘internal beauty’ at this point. That goes to Zorro, Jen, and Rona. They are the truly redeeming characters so far as I’m concerned.
@albert, well, Eleanor has been plotting something for a *very* long time…since I started reading 🙂 … I think that we’re seeing a culmination of her efforts. The Lady is in for a tough time.
Xspace is right that Belham took The Lady by surprise, but The Lady has been training and walked over Belham very easily at the end. I’m sure that Eleanor has taken this into consideration!
BUT somebody did mention that Rona could come through from wherever she is. I agree, Eleanor has written her off, but I have faith.
Re the Lady initially having trouble with Belam… I’d point out that it took her a serious effort to pull herself back together after that battle. I wonder whether she’s a bit afraid of her own capabilities, should she lose self-control.
A nuke at a gunfight is not always a winning strategy.
One of them is really ugly, and it isn’t the one with the red eyes.

The most beautiful angel in heaven was the greatest traitor.
Y’know, I wonder whether Eleanor realizes what she is flirting with… and whether she is seeking a release, whether she admits it to herself or not…
Traitor is such an oppressive word.

This is too out of character for Eleanor. If I were the Lady I would be very cautious here.

Black and White – The Lady, who’s a brunette wearing black and Eleanor, an albino. Though who’s evil and who’s good? That’s a very blurry line indeed.
Neither would be good in the traditional sense.
This is going to be very bad. For both of them.
