I think that move involved psychic energy as well as physical strength and speed. She had nowhere near enough leverage to hurl him that way if she was using normal physics. At least, not unless she made some other move too fast for us to see it.
I’m somewhat confused about which realm we’re currently operating in. “Rona” wandered off in our world, and the landscape looks like we’re still on this plane. But having the half-demon show up here seems odd… though he might have gotten a lift from Eleanor.
The lighting is also somewhat confusing. Even with a full moon throwing enough light to see color, that grass is pretty darned vivid. Of course we may be seeing it as these beings see it… and there’s the simple need to make things visible to us readers in a space where there aren’t convenient streetlights.
Re “Momma”: Well, either these aren’t angels as we think of them (probably true), or their creator(s) isn’t/aren’t exclusively male (probably true). Though it could also have been simply a phrase Eleanor liked and adopted to go with the role she’s playing.
BTW, I’m having trouble remembering whether we actually saw when Rona’s body was possessed. I don’t think so; I think we just realized that her body was starting to do things while she was still on the other plane…
I’ve gotten the impression that the “different worlds” bleed into eachother quite a bit, and that in reality they arn’t actually different worlds, but rather different perspectives.
As I understand it they are currently in what we would call our world, but I believe it may be possible that a human passer-by would not see them. It would make sense if the perspectives operated more on an individual basis rather than an universal location basis. Once your eyes have been opened to one aspect of reality, you can see it, like with the vampire faces.
After all, it is not uncommon that one person claims to see a ghost where others didn’t.
Dream: I’m not sure any of this is supposed to be “comfortable”…
Albert: Thanks. I had completely forgotten that sequence. May have to reread.
I say again: I was skeptical about Twilight Lady when I first encountered it… but I do like the way it has developed. As with some of the others that have held my attention, it successfully operates on multiple levels and at multiple time scales, and some of those explore some respectably deep questions. Nice job, Blake.
(English teachers like to say that the ultimate question of most literature is “who am I”. Serious science fiction and fantasy go beyond that to question the meanings of “I”, “who”, and “am”.)
Does this mean we get to see Eleanor fight the Lady?
ooohh sheeitt, it’s dim sum time!!
Momma? I thought that Angels are in Pappa’s army 🙂
was that a really cool Tai Chi or Aikido move?
And here I thought “Mama said there’d be days like this.”
I think she has mother in this world too, because she has physical body.

uhl: Remember how the Lady always talks about “cruel mother”? Perhaps it’s more than just an expression.
technogeek: We did see, but it was a long time ago. http://www.twilightlady.com/2008/05/25/the-realm-in-the-middle-pg-67-68/
But… when she talks about cruel mother she’s talking about laws of nature stuff.
I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that being an actual character.
