I don’t think the conversation has anything to do with astral travel. i think he is saying he was one of “the old barflies” who frequented the place, 25 years ago. That said, i am really curious who is in the photo, who looks and sounds EXACTLY like Jen, or vice versa, but is twice her age.
Of _course_ you cut away immediately after “Hey, Sis. Been a while.”. I really should have seen that coming.
I’m afraid I’m still not quite connecting on who “the original” was. Not that I’m worrying about it; if it’s important, it will become clear.
Just FWIW: I’m quite impressed with how Twilight Lady has developed. I was skeptical about it when I first discovered it, but Blake has kept it interesting and consistant, and it’s been becoming more polished as it develops. At this point, I think I might actually be interested if a dead-tree edition becomes available… though I’m not going to commit to that until the current arc resolves.
that looks like jen, makes me wonder now
the ‘boss’ is a vampyre, right? this old, ex priest (forgot his name) was one ‘every chance he got’? interesting!
I believe “was one” refers to fans of the original, not vampires, but this is Blake’s comic and it’s rather dangerous to assume anything.
@Xcal: I thnk the ex priest means he would astral travel every chance he got, not that he was a vampyre every chance he got.
Seems kind of obvious to me that he means that he witnessed “the original” every chance he got. That is, he came to the bar for the music.

I’m guessing that Eleanor was the original they’re talking about.
What makes you think that?
This may shed some light on the above conversation:

It does indeed. Thanks you.

but does indeed shed some light on the picture

Aw, c’mon. If trees are gonna die…
Yes, so long as they’re not the screaming ’till their tongues are cut out ones. 😉
Trees scream plenty. You just need to be adept at experiencing the “astral plane” as some call it.
