Chaos: And since when have you seen the neck pinch put someone out? Or most of the other stuff that happens in this series?
It’s a plot device in a fantasy story. Feel free to substitute whatever mechanism you would prefer for quickly and quietly rendering these individuals unconscious.
The karate chop is actually the viable one, but only in the way that “Any sufficient trauma to the back of the head/that general area” does the same thing.
‘Pinching’ in that specific area wouldn’t render someone unconscious, but it can be *excruciatingly painful*.
That said, these are vampires/ people outside the natural we’re talking about here, and them being able to knock someone out via a touch that pop culture has ingrained into our minds is something I’m very willing to accept. Heh.
Pyro- Actually, it’s very difficult, if not impossible to render someone unconscious with a blow to the back of the head without causing death, or at least very serious brain damage. A bit behind the ear, just above the bump, would be better, but still runs a serious risk of injury. If you must render someone unconscious, use a sleeper hold, though even that won’t safely last more than a few seconds.
You don’t cross MC Vlad. XD
I wonder when the last time was he actually lost his cool.
The Vulcan Death Grip! I haven’t seen that one since *forever* 🙂
And when has being young had anything to do with being nonplussed?
i have never seen a karate chop to the neck work
e’er

I hear the nerve pinch can actually be done… although it doesn’t render the victim unconscious, just brings him to his knees.
technogeek- true, though i know the neck pinch to work if given enough time
