Pacts with demons are inherently dangerous, Rona dear. Even if a demon obeys the “letter” of the pact, it won’t be likely to obey the “spirit” of the agreement. The Demon will always try to find some legal or semantic “loophole” that allows it to do as it wishes, not as the pact decrees, unless of course, the pact decrees mass mayem and destruction, and even then, the pact bearer will be the most likely target of the destruction and not the intended victim.
Belahm is kind of laying it on thick here. She must think they’re stupid. (Although looking at the likes of Zai, that perception isn’t entirely unfounded.)
“Are you implying I might’ve… made her up? That’s a rather serious allegation.”
Well that’s what my mates suggested when I told them that my future girlfriend is in an alternate reality (I first said Canada, but that’s where I live so you can imagine how well it worked). Do you think they were just teasing me? Mabe I just wante to believe them just to shield me from my fear of seing something gruesome happen to her. Before I could even meet her. Just to think that could happen, my knees go weak. You’ll excuse me, I have to go sit -and possibly breathe in a paperbag- for a while.
PS The light angle on Rona’s panel in the last panel is not consistant with the shadows she casts. I think you photoshopped that pic. How am I supposed to convice the guys that my future girfriend is real with that kind of material? You’re not helping mate. Seriously. They’ll end up thinking I’m, like, a loonie or sumfin’.
PPS the seventh word in my last comment looks like it’s spelled p.a.n.e.l. but it’s an elaborate optical illusion. It actually spells f.a.c.e. to those granted with True Sight (and a fair bit of imagination).
it’s funny. After Belham’s tired corrections of the humans. After all the Lady has said about sentient creatures being deluded and prejudiced. Characters and readers alike keep taking sides about what a demon would or would not do.
“Right”? Oh dear. 😀

I get the feeling there’s something specific Belahm is after, though.
For someone who’s supposed to know about the history and nature of those pacts, Rona’s acting very much like a sheep to the slaughter.
The more I read this comic, the more I become convinced Rona is an IDIOT.
Stupid, no. Naive, gullible, and ignorant, yes.
I think Rona might have her own plan here.
I think Rona might very well be a fictionnal character
Are you implying I might’ve… made her up?
That’s a rather serious allegation.
You know the “friendlier” Troll lady gets the more I get creeped out. Good work.
behlam needs some serious psychyactric help if she thinks rona will help her

Ah, but you’re assuming that light and shadow play by the same rules in Subrealm.
“How am I supposed to convice the guys that my future girfriend is real with that kind of material?”
Don’t worry about the guys. First you have to convince ME.
