And I Searched Behind Your Eyes…
Life is a constant stream of sensation.
The fields. Restaurants. The office. The hospital. Theater. The bedroom. School. The church. Malls. The lake. Jungles. The worldwide web. All different places, each offering their own type of fix.
Where does it end? Why are we here?
What is the true function of this realm? To house? Feed? Please? Teach?
Or simply… to mask?
Could there be some other reality, only a stone’s throw away, that’s being hidden from us, for reasons unknown?
And if so, where can we get a glimpse of it?
Where can we go to wake up from the dream?
Perhaps the last place on earth anybody would expect. A dark, dank, seedy bar in Detroit’s Cass Corridor neighborhood…
Starting a philosophical discussion, are we? I’m not sure the Lady is someone I would ask about the meaning of life. Still, I applaud you for even touching on the mother of all questions, Mr. Chen. That takes… something. 😛
I would be interested in hearing the Lady’s take on the Meaning of Liff.
I think the Lady’s meaning of life would be along the lines of “you live so you can find out whe you’re going to die.” She seems morbid like that.
I salute you , Mr. Chen!
Beautiful well done
