Haheheh, I knew she’d do that. The question is, did Rona? (My guess is no.)
And yes, she is, probably, -on some level- planning herr next move. But, I also believe that, on another level, perhaps she doesn’t want to go back. Pain is a trap, after all, and if she goes back, hastily at least, then there’s a chance she will be trapped by it again.
I’m still waiting for the Lady vs. Eleanor.
Wouldn’t it be amusing if Eleanor had already dealt with Belahm before the Lady got around to it? (Though I know that most likely won’t happen, as you spoke of a rematch earlier.)
Oh, also, I wonder how the Lady will respond to -guilt- (well, not really, that much is obvious). Rather, I wonder how she will respond to -Rona’s- guilt. Perhaps she will go back, if only to stop Rona from trapping herself with it?
The Lady isn’t going to abandon one of her own warriors, someone who can stir the Lady’s own hidden memories. Not unless she thinks said warrior will be able to take care of things herself. I suspect she’ll be going back, but not to confront Belahm, not in a ‘fair fight’. In fact, she might be planning to wait and go after whoever Belahm tries to sell their souls to – that entity will likely be an easier target than the Huntress herself.
Or maybe she’s trying to teach Rona something again.
I just don’t see the Lady as the “kick back and lounge around on the sofa while we watch some television” type. While I’m ready to believe that she could just abandon the other two to Belahm I can’t see the Lady walking away from that fight either. Just getting away from Belahm isnt good enough, she’d need some payback.
Hmmm, while it was Rona that decided to help, the lady herself did get involved enough to help guide the idiot and his dead girlfriend. However, the idiot decided to not free himself back to the confines of sense-realm, and as such, wasted a most valuable opportunity. With that, the Lady has little or no need to help him, as he chose to stay. However, Rona would want to go back and help, and though she might wait to think of a plan, the Lady did put the guy into this position. Though she might not like it, she will help however she can, I think.
I really do love the art of the Lady here though, she seems more a part and extension of the shadows than in earlier chapters, and even more so than earlier, since the Lady is more of a projection in sense realm, but is more real in the spirit planes. Neh.
Love this chapter, can’t wait to read it to the conclusion.
@xcal & Francisco: that was my first thought, too.
“It’s Heinie Time in the Sense Realm!” LOL (Yeah, I think the can looks like a Heiniken beer. I don’t drink it, so I may be spelling it totally wrong >.^..^<
EDIT Again: WTF? I think my computer is having some sort of mental issues.. *GAH!*
Sorry for triple posting…not that anyone is going to be reading these >.<
Yeah greenforth is right, I always read comments unless I’m way behind and the comments are 50+ or so.
And also, I prefer to spell the brand Hineykin as it’s equal to another brand, Buttwiper (Budweiser). No offense to anyone who likes those brands, everybody has their own favorites, but I find them lacking flavour.
hmmm, what about Patrice and the dead chick? LOL, is the Lady drinking a beer and reading the news?
That was my first thought. However, I now think she’s using this time to plan ahead instead of rushing in.
