Read. Vote. Donate!
(Apologies to Zuda.)
I’m currently in the midst of relocating, so updates are going to be a bit less frequent for the next month or so. As anyone who’s ever done it will attest, moving house can be a heckuva time-suck.
It can be a money-suck as well. As always, any donations are greatly appreciated.
At the very least, you can help halt this comic’s current rapid slide down the rankings at TWC by voting as often as you can (once a day is the limit). Whatever you may think of it, TWC is a pretty good way of spreading the word.
But, you may wonder, why is he asking for help at a time when he’s giving us less than usual, instead of… y’know, more? Where’s our incentive to vote and/or donate?
It’s actually at times like this that us webcomickers truly need support. Not as much to keep ourselves going (we tend to be rather thick-skinned, hardy types), but to keep the comic, the characters, the site, the enthusiasm, the idea, the story, the dream, going. I’ve seen too many creators get sidetracked and lose focus, and their creations peter out as a result.
I, for one, am determined never to let Twilight Lady fall by the wayside. Though it’s at times like this that the spectre of dwindling readership rears its scary head, where the momentum we’ve spent months building threatens to grind to a halt. Where we get preoccupied with things like furniture and finances and life and other practical b.s. and it becomes way too easy to lose sight of what’s really important (webcomicking… duh).
Support can come in many forms, of course. And there may be no proper way to gauge its effect. But believe me, it does make a difference.
Read. Vote. Donate!
Well said… I have been reading (and enjoying) but not voting daily. Sorry!!
I have subscribed to the RSS feed, and the comic is delivered to me without having to visit the site. But, there is a problem. There is no link to vote there. For lazy #$%$^% like me, it isn’t making a lot of sense to actually come to the site to vote when the comic, for which I should be coming to the site, is delivered daily like an email.
I have a suggestion. Include the link to the TWC voting site prominently in the feed. Trust me, it will help.
Thanks… that’s a really good suggestion. I’ll have to see if Comicpress gives me that option (of putting a permanent link in the RSS).
And thanks everyone who voted. Twilight Lady has jumped almost 40 places in one day on TWC. Talk about a tangible difference!
if it makes you feel better, i visit all of my web comics once or twice a month, so my dwindling readership isn’t dwindling =D
but ill be sure to vote for you instead of just ignoring that little blue button like usual =D
I will try to remember to vote more often. It’s not something I normally think about.
I’m also hitting that button. I don’t usually vote because I don’t want to see the previews…must remember to shut my eyes! I’m the guy who runs out of the cinema theater when they show trailers for movies that I REALLY want to watch. I’ve learnt my lesson and stopped dropping coke/popcorn all over my wife 🙂
I love the comic, which I read from work. Sadly, while the comic is available to me here, I can’t vote because the page to vote at is blocked by our company’s web filter. 🙁 sorry. I’m gonna’ try to donate though if 1.we get the raise here we keep hearing about and 2.my wife doesn’t threaten to hurt me for sending $ for a free webcomic lol. But I read religiously, and tend to check more often than the comic’s updated, so at least you get plenty of web hits from me.
Like I said, support comes in many forms. Reading religiously is certainly one of them. 🙂
Good luck with the move.
Thanks!
im thinking that its even clear what the trolll says about none of them beign able to match “her” :p
there is no way to forget that the troll is clever and likes to lay traps so somehow “the food” being offered may contain something special that will affect them in a way. in that case the troll may use this to bargain with the one she cares about (the lady) or even the one that escaped (whisper) for whatever purpose that may benefit the troll
