So what’s in store the rest of the year?
First things first… 223 consecutive days of updating without fail is starting to catch up with me, so… following “The Orbs of Rwahle” we’ll have a short interruption so I can get back up to speed. The next issue, “Symphony in the Key of Oblivion”, will begin Monday, November 3rd.
(Some readers have commented that updates aren’t the length they used to be. The reason for this is when Twilight Lady “started” in March this year, it was actually something of a relaunch. I had a sizable buffer in the beginning which I’ve since used up. So what you’ve been getting the last few weeks is pretty much what I’m capable of producing on a daily basis without sacrificing quality… unless I suddenly grow another brain, or manage to clone myself or something.)
Here’s what’s in store. I want to end 2008 on a high, so I’m going to tempt fate and put extra pressure on myself by declaring that “Symphony in the Key of Oblivion” is gonna be one hell of an issue. It’s kind of the equivalent of a “double-sized spectacular”, for those familiar with traditional print comics. Or if you’re more of a TV watcher, you could call it a “Season Finale” of sorts.
Story-wise, everything comes to a head. Patrice has been freed from Belahm’s clutches by Eleanor… but will he agree to return to Senserealm without the love of his life? What’s going to happen to Whisper? Remember Rona’s words to Zorro: “Whatever you’re imagining might have gone wrong tonight… I will put it right”. How far is she willing to go to accomplish her rescue mission?
And these new astral voyagers… who are they, exactly? Who hired Belahm to keep Whisper under wraps and why? What’s Eleanor’s plan? What are the other Nemsiiki warriors up to? What is Nemsiiki, anyway? These questions, and a few others from the very beginning of the series, will be addressed.
Whew. I haven’t even mentioned the Lady and her whole rematch thing with Belahm…
I can’t wait!
I was wondering how you managed to keep up. I guess this means The Orbs of Rwahle is over? Pity. I’ve come to enjoy this comic far too much… I think I’m spoiled now, I can’t appreciate ordinary webcomics anymore…
As far as the questions go. I once heard someone talking about “kingdoms of the umbra” or something like that. Realms of spirit with their own culture, places where the most powerful dwell, and the still-living are forbidden. This comic has been making me think of that lately…
That’s from the World of Darkness role-playing game. The Umbra is a fictional concept.

Unlike Subrealm, of course. 😉
Not quite the same concept. Maybe WoD got the name from it…
I certainly hate to think I got fed a shit sandwich. 😛
Yeah, that’s possible. And I don’t mean the shit sandwich part. 🙂
hey Blake..I say take as much time as you need (hopefully not too long though)in order to “build material” for Twilight Lady.I usually wait a few anyway because I find I get a better “read” when I can enjoy more than ONE page at atime.Just can’t seem to get enough of this story, ect.
Silly rabbits tricks are for kids, as for good questions, just what would happen if they make it out of there to find that one person who is susposed to be there is gone? Would that not bring out the posibility that the jig is up for our killers hiding inside the body of one of our main characters?
