Okay, great explenation for the “humans to down buildings to escape” problem. Still, i dont quite understand this part. First, fear range? Frequency? Ummmmmm… Basic science info(dont use me as référence do ur Own reaserch) fear occurs when the subject is in danger, and glands pump adrenaline to the brain. Even if the brain stopped sending signalasto the glands, wouldent the effect last à while? More weird things: the nimray. Now im just confused: they obviausly arent the “parent”species of the “hybrids”, so what are they? They go throu vents weirldy and efficiently:foot first, they unscrew them from the inside!
Maybe im analysing things à bit too scientifically for this story, as it is awsome. Keep up the good job!
(Ps:horro seems ok, but please for the love of donuts(noting offensive here!:)) no gore and for Bagel’s sake no alien gore)
(Pps: by gore i mean extensive deatail of bodies in scenes, but this is just my opinion so do what you want)
I am going to go out on a limb and say that they are talking less about sound than some sort of emotional harmonics as part of their clear grasp of mental manipulation. She was agitated (getting pissed at Bob and the whole voracious monster on the loose) which was “dropping” her harmonic connection to control the crowd. She might not have been feeding their panic directly but her grasp of influencing their reactions towards calm obedience was definitely slipping.
At least I am hoping it is more of an emotional range analogy rather than an actually audible direction. The idea that she is trying to speak in some helium induced falsetto would definitely not inspire confidence in me as a guest. I would probably be watching in stunned silence though.
Sounds kinda reminiscent of the Voice from Dune.
Given the apparent memory theft earlier, I would guess that the frequencies in question are harmonious with normal human brain rhythms. There are well known audio frequencies and pitches that enhance various emotions, so it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine ones that can influence thoughts.
