I find it hard to believe that there are vents, even in as immaculate a place as Starlin seems to be, without massive amounts of dust and debris in them. I like to imagine that these kids were gonna just waltz back into the party, heedless of the massive amounts of dust and dirt wafting off their clothes. “What? No, man, I *came* to the party dusty like this. Its all over the west coast these days, you know, dust-crashing a party.”
I’d like to say it is too bad that one of these guys is going to possibly die, but I don’t think I like either of them. My bet is on Glasses McTwitter-followers, since he is the one urging to press on. Also, the other fellow is too good for exposition on the local pop culture to die. Where would the audience get its information!?
Also, who contains ravenous monsters in rooms with vents large enough for them to escape? I mean, humans do in horror movies, but surely Starlin has some concept of how to contain their own primoridial whatevers. Maybe they believe in Darwinism, via the “any student that survives for twelve years in this death trap graduates, cause you clearly have the stuff to survive in the real world”? Sounds like something Predators would do to their young, at least.

think the point was if it is left alone it was sleeping or such, not actively trying to get out.
