Sunset Grill by katfeete

This is a comic set in a future Earth threatened by technologically-advanced, land-hungry alien races. The Larger Big Picture Story (wisely) takes a backseat to the human drama and character-driven goings-on at the Sunset Grill, a bar on the shady side of town in a corrupt city.

Sunset Grill has some of the best-written dialogue of any modern fiction I’ve come across. The exchanges flow so naturally and are so well-crafted it feels like a play. You get the sense each character has his/her own distinct way of speaking, and is saying what people really say in that given situation (not merely delivering exposition for the reader or being the author’s mouth-piece, which too many writers today settle for). Read the first few pages of the latest storyline, “Lost in the Flood”, and you’ll immediately see what I mean.
