OMG! The page when Rona finds out she met Houdini (forgive me if it is spelled wrong) is a wonderful tie in. Houdini and his wife had made a system of communication that only the two of them made to prove wrong to…I forgot if it was psychics and their ability to speak to the dead was a sham (it was as he deemed, his experiment being a “supposent” success. He was tired of psychics pretending they could talk to the dead), the afterlife, or the dead supernatural in general. Houdini said that when he died he would try to contact his wife. The wife had never received contact with her late husband. Was the twilight lady suppose to not to send the message? Is it cause “most people prefer to be asleep”? Also can you enlighten me on what exactly Houdini was trying to prove, I do not like to generalize it. I think it is most likely about proving talking to the dead a sham…sorry for rambling. ^.^”””
Yes, Houdini set out to debunk the fake spiritualists who claimed to communicate with the dead.
According to historic accounts, Bess actually did receive a message purported to be from her late husband. But she was skeptical as to whether it was really him.
Now… there’s no reason to think the Lady was in any way involved in these events.
But I suppose until the real truth comes out, there’s always going to be speculation. 😉
