Nice conclusion to this chapter!
To be honest, while it first felt like it came out of nowhere, it actually makes perfect sense in hindsight, especially with all the callbacks in this particular strip. It also reinforces some of the apparent themes this series is good at discussing, like how no one is just an observer or truly neutral party when there are multiple interacting groups (especially the protagonist of the story)
